The 8th June, the Label Rouge and organic laying hen farmers has visited the conditioning center of Avicole de l’Ouest, located at Grand-Celland in Manche department. The objectives of this morning were to discorver the sorting, calibration and canning process and also to integrate, through client issues that condition their productions, the importance of quality of products.
The discussions with Réjane Alexandre, Quality manager of the site, able to laying hen farmers to understand the stakes for Avicole de l’Ouest.
During the visit, they were impressed by the automatisation of palletization with a PLC used among others in the automotive industry. The company packages about 68 milions eggs by yers (whose 60% Label Rouge and 40% organic).
Concerned by issues of their partners, producers wanted to receive more information, especially on the rate of declassification. The Eggs PO team is working to implement this.
