To make good goat milk, you need healthy goats… but you also need farmers to take care of them! As a co-operative, we support our farmer members in their vocation to perpetuate our goat breeding traditions.

In goat rearing, the teams of our Soignon brand and the ambassador breeders participate in the construction of the Soignon animal welfare approach, approved by the NGO CIWF, and are committed to a process of progress and continuous improvement. Since 2021, 100% of breeders committed to our Soignon animal welfare approach.

Soignon’s good breeding practices

They define the breeding principles to be respected, inspired by the 5 fundamental freedoms of animals and also by the ‘Code mutuel Caprin’, a reference framework of good practices.

Our commitments take the form of a list of standardised practices aimed at guaranteeing the good health, comfort, serenity and good nutrition of all our goats.

Within the co-operative, 100% of the farmer members adhere to the principles of this charter. In addition, an NGO dedicated to the welfare of farm animals (CIWF) accompanies and advises us, in a constant effort to improve our farming practices, such as systematic access to the outdoors for our goats.
